IDAHO CHAPLAINS ASSOCIATION

“The face of Christ in the face of Crisis©”

The vision of The Idaho Chaplains Association is to be a present relevant resource bringing help and hope in life’s critical moments.

In life’s hardest moments, we will be there.

The Idaho Chaplains Association (ICA) aims to mobilize and equip chaplains to serve our community and support our local public safety agencies and first responders by being the spiritual and emotional presence during life’s critical moments.

ICA recognizes the immense emotional stress that first responders and public safety agencies face when dealing with life’s critical moments.  We are committed to partnering with these agencies in order to fulfill spiritual and emotional demands that arise.

We are looking to partner with Fire, Law Enforcement, First Responders, Hospitals and any other agencies needing Chaplaincy support.

NEED A CHAPLAIN?

There are many benefits to having Chaplains for your agency.

FIRST RESPONDERS

ICA Chaplains provide support to Fire, Law Enforcement, EMS, and Dispatch agencies both on-the-scene and behind-the-scene.  On-the-scene support includes accompanying officials on suicide and suicide attempt calls, death notification, general crisis response, and any other call that might require the need for additional comfort and support.  We offer ride-alongs with officers, scene-specific calls, or whatever fits for your agency.

Behind-the-scenes, our Chaplains can meet one on one with your team members who might need to debrief after a challenging and emotional indecent, or even those struggling outside of work.   We provide a listening ear and a ‘safe place’ for staff to share their emotions, and offer hope, strength, and guidance to overcome difficult times.

CORPORATE CHAPLAINS

We all face challenges in everyday life, from stresses with work and family to divorce or the death of a loved.  Sometimes, when the trials are great, what your staff needs is simply the strength to focus and perform the task at hand.  Others might be disgruntled at work or hurt by a friend or family.  We offer them support and a fresh and hopeful perspective.

A Corporate Chaplain can help your staff by giving them a safe outlet for their struggles and by helping them to overcome difficult situations.  We provide support through care giving, crisis intervention, employee and community development, and critical incident care.

We come along side staff to help decrease turnover and increase morale and employee/employer trust.

BECOME A CHAPLAIN

The mission statement of the Idaho Chaplains Association is simply to equip, empower and engage for service.    (Ephesians 4:12….to equip His people for works of service...)

Equip; ICA is responsible to mobilize individuals who have the calling and passion to serve as Chaplains in meeting with the mission and vision of the association. The Idaho Chaplain Association along with other credible local and national organizations will train, certify and coordinate the chaplains. To be certified and qualified, Chaplains will undergo intensive relevant training to prepare them for the challenge that will come with being the Spiritual presence in the face of stressful moments.

Empower; ICA seeks to empower it’s chaplains by partnering with public safety agencies to create an avenue to serve and bring hope in hopeless situations coursed by accidents, sickness, death and other unforeseen life threatening events.

Engage; ICA firmly believes in being the hands and feet of Jesus in our communities and beyond. Chaplains are encouraged to be practical in meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the people they serve.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in the Bible, both Old and New Testament, to be the inspired and infallible Word of God. The Bible in its original autograph is without error in whole or in part. (2 Tim. 3:16.)

We believe in the creation of the world and man as a direct act of God. (Genesis 1:1; John 10:30.)

We believe that God has existed from all eternity in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and

God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was God, came in human flesh, being fully God and fully man without sin. (John 1:1; Gen. 1:1; John 10:30.)

We believe the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross in payment for our sins, rose from the dead on the third day, ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father. (Is. 7:14; Heb. 7:25; 1John 4:10; Rev. 19:11-16.)

We believe that all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and are therefore under His wrath and just condemnation and that rebirth by the Holy Spirit is essential and an absolute necessity for one’s salvation. (Rom. 3:23, Titus 3:5-6; John 3:16-19; Eph.2:18-19.)

We believe that Salvation comes through repentance of sins, and thus turning from sin and focusing on things of God. (Phil. 4:8.)

We believe that salvation is offered by grace as a gift to the sinner. One must accept this gift by faith in the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, not trusting whatsoever in any personal works. (Eph. 2:8-9.)

We believe in the personal, visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth and in the resurrection of   Christians to live eternally in Heaven with God. (I Thess. 4:13; Rev. 22:7, 20.)

We believe that God designed marriage to be the life-long union of one man and one woman, and only within the context of such a marriage does sexual intimacy have God's blessing.  (Gen. 2:20-24; Mark 10:2-9; Hebrews 13:4)

We believe in a real and literal hell. (Matt 10:28, 13:42, 13:50; 25:40; Mark 9:43; Jude 1:7, Rev. 28:8)

ENDORSEMENTS

IDAHO CHAPLAINS ASSOCIATION

"3Oaks Ministries has provided chaplaincy services to both the Peers who utilize PEER Wellness Center and to myself and my family, as well. When my husband passed away unexpectedly, Boyd graciously conducted his Celebration of Life Service.  Two years later when our oldest daughter got married, Boyd was there to officiate the wedding.  A few months ago, PEER Wellness Center lost one of it's long-time volunteers.  He had no local family and no memorial service was planned.  However, Boyd held a memorial service at the recovery center so that our Peers, volunteers and staff could pay their respects and mourn the loss together.  Whenever we have needed someone to talk to, pray with us, or get through a life event, Boyd Chikatula and 3Oaks Ministries has been there to help us and we are eternally grateful for them."

"Ministry has been a blessing to my family over the years. Whenever we are in crisis, emotional, Spritual or health, we have called in to Boyd and he has been available to pray and counsel us through. The chaplain program is a God sent to the valley. I would encourage anyone going through crisis to consider calling this ministry. God has been using them to bless many.
